I have been using a technique years ago mainly at a warm up phase to introduce vocabulary to be used across a new unit.It is called the rose technique. It's like mind mapping. It's really very effective to memorize important words or to brainstorm ideas during the writing session ...etc.
Later, many inspectors of English have urged us to start using mind maps (2006) .This is not a new invention or concept to be discussed for I am sure that many teachers of many subjects are already using it. There are even softwares to create your mind maps.

Days ago,I was making further reasearch about this technique and I found these sites I planned to share with my colleagues but because of a health problem,I was unable to post anything ,though I didn't stop connecting briefly to the site.I am sorry for being so lazy.

Please visit the following sites ,they may help you understand more the Ministerial new invention!!!

Thank you for sharing this document with us Mrs NOR.

The idea is not new. They are , at least, doing something to improve the Algerian education. As a matter of fact, and none can deny that, most of the fresh teachers, have a little knowledge about mind mapping or the right prrocedure of handling this technique to reach better results during the learning process.
Thank you, madam, for the documents you have brought.

Thank you Mrs NOR for what you you presented and for the sites.
In fact I want to thank all those who are 'continuous reminders' of teaching
English in most effective ways.May Allah bless you all.

I think that mind mapping is an easy way to provide learners with the most
important words they may need during a whole unit.Of course, the teacher
has to choose the right words and the right number of words. If we give few
items about the text or the theme pupils can memorize or retain most if not all
what is given.

Assalamu Alaikum all,
I am deeply thankful to all of you for providing us with your valuable opinions.
I do agree with you. The concept " mind mapping" itself is not at all new. However, it is its application in the English classes that is added as a reinforcement to the lesson.
One of my colleague told me that this method ( referring to mind mapping) could not be used in languages. I believe it is totally the contrary. It be can highly used and I advise my colleagues to enhance their student to use their understanding of the course and make up their own mind maps. It is a kind of summarizing all what has been grasped and reorganized in a way that helps the learners memorise it.

The modal "can":

Thank you!

Thank you sister Nor.You're right to say that it's also feasible in English.

Mind Mapping is helpful for both the student and teacher. The former can assimilate easily and keep in mind what has been learnt so far and the latter can gain time and make less efforts to vehicle his ideas to the learners as long as they will be interested.
